Last Saturday at the Barnes and Noble Maker Faire while I was sharing about Little Bits, I was introduced to the MeeperBot 2.0. MeeperBot is created by a local company in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
What is a MeeperBot? MeeperBot is a mobile lego machine connected via bluetooth to an iOS or Android device. You can build on the platform with your legos to create while using the MeeperBot app to drive or code your machine. After learning about the MeeperBot 2.0, I ordered 5 MeeperBots for Country View and Stoner Prairie to use in our makerspaces and for the hour of code and beyond.
On Friday evening I traveled to the headquarters of MeeperBot which will soon be a store front. I was able to spend more than an hour learning about the process of how the MeeperBot was conceived and the updates that are coming soon. I loved learning about the design process behind the MeeperBot as well as learning about the interior components. Before the MeeperBot was made with injection molds, the prototype was created with an Ultimaker 3D printer. I can't wait to invite Jim Brandon one of the co-founder's to share with our students about his design.
