To push designers to try other materials but have a structured example, I have been designing different challenges that use different materials on the Glowforge that we received through the InfyMakers grant.
Designers have been earning credit money to purchase different designs and materials of their choice but the design challenge is to encourage designers to try a new material that they might not have tried before. This week I introduced the ceramic tile project with scoring and tic tac toe. A simple and quick print that results in a cool game. |

Previous challenges include acrylic jewelry, leather bracelet, wood ornament, and a name snowflake. Below is the youtube playlist that will continue to be developed.

Glowforge Design Challenges
This post is a documentation of an inspiration that I hope to build on for my students for their band concert using the integration of music, light, and Micro:Bit. My next step is finding the leds that work best with the Micro:Bit V2. This project will really integrate what we are learning about coding with the Micro:Bit and light sequences. It is going to be a fantastic Design Thinking Project with a starting example for inspiration.
I can't wait to share our progress. Using the LAUNCH cycle for Design Thinking, here is the first part of the process. L - Look, Listen, and Learn
