As a MakerBot Ambassador, my challenge this month is to test print 5 different designs. The fourth design that I selected is a Book Report Keychain by Mr. Kindergarten. Okay... I have to admit, I'm really enjoying Mr. Kindergarten's designs because they demonstrate a real understanding of the K-5 learning environment. I love designs that spark many different design choices and this project definitely does.

This design was a test of persistence. Anyone who has ventured into the 3D printing realm will understand that I knew that the design at no time was flawed but that my printer just didn't want to work. My first print I did without a raft and it seemed to work until an hour later when I came back to find the base and a ball of melted filament instead of the design. So of course I thought the solution was to reprint it with a raft. The second print also failed in a ball of melted filament..... which was the sign from the 3D printer that it was time to walk away and try later. I printed this design two days later to perfection.
