If your prints aren't printing correctly, you might want to look at what is happening with your extruder. I purchased filament for our snowflakes and I was getting burnt clumps in the printing.
Instead of thinking it was the extruder, I blamed the filament. But now after printing about 5 different projects with different filament, I finally pulled the extruder off only to find that it is extruding around the extruder head.
Lesson learned: Don't wait to investigate!
Captured this today in the Design Lab.... pretty awesome.
Sometimes words can't capture the feeling of what happens at lunch recess every Wednesday and Friday in our LMC.
Last week was the debut of Dash Coding Basketball using Blockly and the launcher. Some students became very clever in their shots.
This week was the debut of Dash Soccer.
Check out the hum of the groups as they work to create after having such powerful feedback from our Shark Tank.
This week was snowflake symmetry in our fourth grade classrooms at Stoner Prairie and Country View. Now the 3D printer prints nonstop snowflakes with clear glitter filament. This lesson I wrote for Thingiverse Education and now was able to teach in 4 different classrooms with one more to go. What a wonderful activity to integrate technology and math!
