1. Proposing an idea of something we always wanted to create
2. Finding common souls who wanted to create the same thing
3. Learning how to create our dream with others
4. Trying and failing
5. Sharing our final design
Instead of learning how to teach, we were learning how to learn.
This experience really opened my eyes to how I could bring this experience into our school's makerspace. Our SP Design Lab wouldn't allow for extended investigation times so I created the SP Innovation Lab which meets during first recess for our 2nd and 3rd graders Tuesday through Friday and second recess for our 4th and 5th grade students.
This was the first week that I have had the guts to try to launch the open ended design process with a diverse group of students. Students chose 3D printing, Minecraft projects, Instamorph and Strawbees, Green Screen, Stop Motion, and Weaving. Pictures only capture some of the crazy awesomeness that is happening.
