In two weeks, our school will be participating in the Fitchburg Community Back to School Block Party. The emoji bubble wands are being printed as this post is being written.
I loved the challenge of combining two of my favorite 3D programs together to create the final product.
Step 1: Creating Using Makers Empire, Thingiverse, & Tinkercad
| || |
I love designing bubble wands using Shaper on Makers Empire. The bubble wand madness started with the Makers Empire bubble wand tutorial.
I had created a wand that had inspirational words but I was really failing at the emoji part of the design so I decided to look on Thingiverse where I found 21 different emojis. I now had two .stl files that I wanted to combine together which Tinkercad does beautifully.
Step 2: Testing the Design
My next step was to test the different designs that I had created to ensure that they would actually work. I found that the overall size of the emoji was not important but the size of the holes for several of the emojis didn't create very good bubbles.
I decided to use the heart emoji because it seemed to create the nicest bubbles. I resized the emoji to make it smaller and put 4 different designs together in Tinkercad prior to using the Slicer program and printing it with 10% infill on the Prusa MK3.
