This week our second graders started designing the level of their game for their community helper. What would be the item that is collected in that workplace? Who could be the enemy? What kinds of information should you share about your community helper? | |
The design possibilities of Bloxels EDU far exceeds the original Bloxels in the depth of design with the color wheel of gradients to a color and background design. The closed classroom design area provides a safer design environment and requires Bloxels to be used to design and not just play. The updates of 4 different games in 4 subject areas gives student designers a context and builds an understanding of how the Bloxels EDU format works.

Thursday night was the Share Fair with the Maker Faire which showcased some of the many choices are students have at Country View.
With the Bloxels EDU hub, I can create classrooms and monitor what students are creating without having to go on each individual device. With Bloxels EDU, my students create in an environment where they can share their designs to a classroom library as well as earn badges for different design challenges. Bloxels has been making special stops at schools for Game Jams as they present at different state conferences. Our school was so fortunate to be selected and students from all of our elementary schools were invited. Even though it was spring break, we had a wonderful group of designers who brought their families with them. Josh Stevens and Richard brought the big Bloxels board and facilitated a brainstorming creation and share session. Space will be limited... so this will be by invite only. I'm so excited to be able to feature the Bloxel creators and larger than life Bloxel building board here at CV over spring break.
Today the following classrooms participated in Hour of Code - Nolan, Weisensel, Crowe, Dalhoff, Rohlfing, and Oscar. Thank you to our high school volunteers - Edward P., Michael L., and Grant N. whose help made this happen. Today 7 classrooms attended the Hour of Code in the LMC - Flogel, Germann, Rebholz, Prill, Fronek, Birkett, and Wersal. This all happened with the support of our high school volunteers - Colleen A., Noah J., Qiuwen Q., and Cecilia K.
Over the next two weeks, all of our students at Country View will have the opportunity to do an Hour of Code through many different activities. Today was the first group of Battles, Ehlenbach, Zorr, Curtis, Lawry, and Messmann.
