This week designers made great progress in designing their games but the most important piece of this week was the feedback provided by other designers.
Designers have opted to use Bloxels for designing their Games for Change submissions with the majority focusing on Theme Be Ocean Wise. |

In Week 2 of our Designing Games Unit, designers started to dive deeper into the focus themes through the website resources as well as several Edpuzzle playlists that I created for them to build more understanding around the different themes.

As the new semester starts, I love starting the first unit with games. This semester also brings some new resources through Games For Change.
This week we focused on playing games and identifying the components of a game. I have been finding a lot of ways to enhance my previous unit with the resources from Games For Change. Check out the teacher resources - Link My First Week of Instruction
Next my designers shared the games that they have been developing to get feedback about how to improve their game. As always the first meeting was more subdued but the take aways were super powerful for both groups.
I introduced the Criteria and Constraints for the project the next day. Designers started with the template with cover and I reminded them to go back to the Maze Video Tutorial or directions if they had questions as they were designing that the person next to them couldn't answer. Over the course of the next few days, designers watched an Edpuzzle 3D Certification video playlist that I developed so that each designer would have time to learn how to print their maze and teach another designer.
